High Interest Themes

We believe in open-ended play and recognize the value of following the interest of children. To that end, each class is designed loosely around a theme with lots of room for child-directed play and learning. We emphasize processes over product allowing for a plethora of choice for playing and learning.

Our studio classes also incorporate seasons and holidays as a springboard for play and learning.

Hands-On Activities

We know that children learn best through doing — which is why our programs are filled with hands-on, minds-on activities that spark curiosity, encourage collaboration, and build confidence.

Each activity is thoughtfully planned to include interactive experiences that go beyond worksheets and screens. Whether your child is engineering a tower from recyclables, painting a story on canvas, planting herbs in our garden, or acting out a skit with friends, they are engaging in purposeful play that supports real-world learning.

Promoting Home Connection

We believe the joy of learning and play shouldn’t end when children leave our care. That’s why we prioritize strong family connections that empower families to extend the wonder of our program into their everyday routines.

One of our favorite tools for supporting families is our weekly newsletter and blog — The Playtime Press. Each issue is packed with:

  • Simple, screen-free activity ideas you can do at home with minimal prep

  • 📦 Spotlights on favorite materials from our classroom and how to use them creatively at home

  • 📅 Upcoming events and opportunities for playful community involvement

  • 🧠 Insights on child development and how play supports growth in all areas

  • 💬 Conversation starters and prompts to spark rich dialogue with your child

Whether you're building a blanket fort, cooking together, or collecting leaves on a walk, The Playtime Press helps bridge what your child is learning in our program with the meaningful moments happening in your home.

Together, we can nurture curious minds, creative hearts, and connected families — one playful day at a time.
