🎉 Welcome to Our Play Space!
Let’s work together to keep this a safe, joyful place to play and connect.
🧒 Supervision
Children must be actively supervised by a parent or caregiver at all times.
This is not a drop-off space — adults must remain on-site (unless noted for a specific class).
💛 Be Kind & Respectful
Please treat others the way you want to be treated.
Share toys and take turns — everyone is here to play!
Use kind words and gentle hands.
🧼 Clean Play
Wash or sanitize hands before entering the space.
No food or drink in the play zones (snacks in designated areas only).
If a toy gets mouthed or dirty, place it a "Yuck Bin" for cleaning.
🧸 Toys & Materials
Please leave toys and materials in their play areas.
Handle toys gently — if something breaks, let a staff member know.
No toys leave the space unless they’ve been checked out from the Play Library.
🧘 Wellness First
Please stay home if you or your child is sick.
Help us keep the space healthy for everyone.
🧭 Respect the Space
Wear grip socks in designated areas where shoes are not allowed.
Walk inside — no running, climbing furniture, or throwing toys.
Keep personal items in designated areas.
Choose age appropriate items. Please only play with one or two items/sets at a time.

For Staff, Volunteers, & Families Supervising Children
At My WonderPlay, we believe children thrive in nurturing environments where guidance is grounded in love, respect, and consistency. Our Positive Discipline Policy reflects our commitment to developmentally appropriate practices, fostering self-regulation, empathy, and joyful learning through creative play.
🌱 Guiding Philosophy
We believe:
Children learn best through connection, modeling, and meaningful play
Mistakes are opportunities for learning
Adults are co-regulators and coaches
Respectful discipline teaches skills
🎯 Discipline Goals
Our aim is to:
Support children in developing self-control and emotional regulation
Promote safe, respectful behavior in shared spaces
Equip children with tools for problem-solving and empathy
Guide behavior in ways that are kind, firm, and consistent
🛠️ Strategies We Use
1. Modeling Appropriate Behavior
Adults demonstrate kindness, patience, and calm responses in daily interactions.2. Positive Language & Reinforcement
We clearly state expectations and affirm desired behaviors.
Example: “Let’s walk inside to keep our bodies safe.”3. Redirection & Choice
We offer alternatives or guide children toward safe, appropriate options.
Example: “You roll the ball here inside or choose another toy.”4. Anticipating & Preventing
Set up environments to minimize conflict (e.g., duplicates of popular toys)
Offer gentle warnings before transitions (e.g., to change activities or leave the space)
5. Emotion Coaching
Help children name their feelings
Acknowledge emotions without judgment
Example: “You’re feeling frustrated because the tower fell.”
6. Problem Solving Together
Guide children in using words, compromise, and making amends.7. Logical & Natural Consequences
Consequences are respectful, related, and reasonable.
Example: If a toy is misused, it’s removed for a short time.❌ What We Do NOT Use
To protect children’s dignity and safety, we do not use:
Physical punishment
Shaming, yelling, or threats
Time-outs as isolation or punishment (we encourage taking breaks as a method of calming down and/or regrouping)
👨👩👧👦 For Families Supervising Their Children
Follow this Positive Discipline Policy in shared spaces
Handle behavior calmly and respectfully
Redirect with empathy and offer choices
Ask for staff support if needed
🧑🏫 For Staff & Volunteers
Use a calm, reassuring tone
Step in kindly when behavior is unsafe or disruptive
Speak with families privately if needed
Use supervision as a teaching opportunity—not punishment
🧩 When Additional Support Is Needed
If a child frequently struggles with behavior:
We will partner with the family to better understand the child’s needs
We may create a simple support plan or adjust the environment
💬 Communication & Collaboration
We deeply value open, respectful communication with families. We welcome:
Feedback about your child
Questions about our methods
Shared strategies that work for you at home
Together, we build a community rooted in respect, connection, and play.
